Question: What kind of machines do Google's thousands of engineers use? Which OS? And how do they keep a gigantic infrastructure protected from security risks, without impairing their famous creativity?

Answers: Several, numerous, and some sound planning ahead.

Um, that article doesn't say anything about what kinds of machines and OSs Google uses on the desktop. I didn't find the interview, such as it was, to be very informative at all - but I do know Google deploys a LOT of Macs, which makes them different than most companies.

thats because you expect there to be "the choice" for a real guru. A guru uses what he can, and uses the fsck out of it. A real guru can deal with broken OSes and buggy software and still get the job done while using a pedal powered generator during a power failure.
