"Not horrible, but disappointing"
Pros: Packs a lot of the RE world into one game
Cons: Doesn't live up to potential
Summary: I hadn't played RE4 until getting it for the Wii and this was a major let down from that game. Part of that has to do with the graphics not being nearly as good as RE4, but the most disappointing thing to me is that I think this game would have been a lot better than it is (but still not as good as RE4) if it wasn't an on rail shooter. The automatic movement of your character in the game is really annoying in a lot of places. Perhaps it was done intentionally, but I found exploring areas to find stuff in the game to be much too hit and miss for my liking- forcing me to randomly scan the screen with my remote aiming icon and frantically pushing the A button in an attempt to grab items before I was railed off to the next location. Despite the graphics, I think this game might have been worthy of an 8 or 8.5 rating if your movement was taken off the rails or you were at least given a bit more control over your movement.
